After adding some content it’s time to tweak the home page a bit. This guide will use plugin settings panel but you can also create home pages with page builder.
For this guide you need MinervaKB plugin installed and dummy data imported (or you can create your own articles and pages).
Let’s check how our page looks after installation and importing dummy data.

View setup
Now, let’s go to MinervaKB – Settings and change it. First, let’s change the view to Box view and select some specific topics to display, as currently recent topics are shown.

Select box view layout and drag some topics to the right side, as shown on the image above. You can also reorder topics to adjust their positions. Press Save settings and check the result.

Basic colors
Good. Now let’s adjust icons and colors a little.

We’ll also change the icon for topics.

Let’s save the settings and check the result once again.

Search setup
Nice. Now, let’s change the search. Go to the Search tab and change the settings as show in the pictures: change the search title, title font size and in Search theme dropdown select Clean instead of Minerva.

Also, let’s change colors a bit.

Again, save and open home page to see changes. Also, type some query to see search results.

More styling
Next, we’ll add background image and gradient to make our search look even better. I’ll use some random image URL from the Google search, but generally you would want to upload image to media library first and copy URL from there.

See the results once again.

Very good. You can of course design your own images and use pattern overlay as well, combining them all and adjusting opacity as necessary. Combined with built-in search themes, this gives you unlimited possibilities for search section design.
Now, lets make some more changes to search.

And let’s switch back to list view for a moment. Adjust some colors and icon settings for the list view.

And see the results once again.

That’s it for this guide. There are many other settings available, try them using the dummy data and you’ll be familiar with basic plugin functionality within minutes.
